This castle very likely already existed in 972 and was fortified at the end of the 13th century by Ubertino Landi. In 1385 it was handed over to Jacopo Dal Verme, and then in 1485 to Ludovico il Moro. In 1525, following the Siege of Pavia, the Dal Verme regained control of the Castle until 1975 when it was sold to the Municipality of Zavattarello, which took care of the restoration works and turned the castle into an important tourism and cultural site. |
